# Connect YouTube Channel

> Connect your YouTube channel to PaddyPost to schedule video uploads and Shorts.

PaddyPost enables you to schedule and publish videos directly to your YouTube channel, including support for YouTube Shorts.

## Prerequisites

* You must have a **Google Account** with a **YouTube Channel**.
* The channel must be verified to upload videos longer than 15 minutes (if applicable).

## Connecting Your Account

  <Step title="Navigate to Accounts">
    In the PaddyPost sidebar, click on **Accounts**.

  <Step title="Add Account">
    Click the **Add Account** button in the top right corner.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select YouTube">
    Choose **YouTube** from the list of social networks.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Authorize Google">
    You will be redirected to Google to sign in.

    1. Select the Google Account associated with your YouTube channel.
    2. Review the permissions requested by PaddyPost.
    3. Click **Allow** to grant access.

  <Step title="Select Channel">
    If your Google Account manages multiple channels, you will be asked to select which channel to connect.

## Troubleshooting

  Ensure your video meets YouTube's supported file formats and size limits. Also, check if your channel has any community strikes that might prevent uploading.

<Accordion title="Shorts vs Regular Video">
  PaddyPost automatically detects if a video qualifies as a "Short" based on its duration (under 60 seconds) and aspect ratio (vertical). You do not need to select a specific option for Shorts; just upload the video.
